Formation of the GEWH Fund
On October 5th, 2023, the Galveston Essential Workforce Housing Fund I, LLC was officially formed. With access to capital, Build Galveston could now focus on the development of attainable workforce housing opportunities. Learn More
City Council Resolution
On January 25th, 2024, Galveston city council approved a resolution in support of the GEWH Fund. In which, the city acknowledged that workforce housing is a public service that needed to be addressed.
Partnerships: Rebuilding Together Houston & CenterPoint Energy
In its dedication to providing community revitalization efforts, Build Galveston partnered with RTH and CenterPoint to develop the OCCP CommUNITY Project. This allowed for the refurbishment of homes within the Old Central Carver Park neighborhood which could be made safe, sound, and energy efficient. Learn More
